Flippers / Stayplates

When a tooth is lost or extracted, many patients prefer not to leave the space visible while planning a permanent replacement. Flippers, also known as stayplates, are removable partial dentures designed to temporarily replace one or more missing teeth.

A flipper is typically lightweight and made from acrylic material. It fits comfortably along the roof of the mouth or along the lower arch, holding a prosthetic tooth in place to fill the gap. Because it is removable, it can be taken out for cleaning and during sleep.
